Think outside the box this Mother’s Day

Many people see a boost in sales before Mother’s Day, especially if your products are geared towards women. You can do a traditional home party with women (because they have moms too) or you can try to do a guy’s night out so you can help them make their selections.

Here are a few party theme ideas:

  • Mommy & Me Party
  • Perfect Pampering Party
  • Guy’s Night Out
  • Donuts with Dad

Now if you don’t have a hostess, fear not, throw your own party. Now if you’re going to publicly advertise the event you might not want strangers in your house so here are a few places that have rooms you could rent inexpensively.

  • Places that offer classes like a Micheal’s or Hobby Lobby
  • Community centers
  • Libraries
  • Grocery stores

Take a look at what businesses are in your community. You might be able to find another type of location that would work. If you can’t find a location within your budget, consider expanding the event to include several vendors to help cover the cost.

If one of these ideas works for you, please comment below. I would love to hear your success story.

Let’s stay connected!

Why not me?

You see it everywhere. Friends selling skincare, health products, jewelry or accessories on social media and in person. As of 2014 (2015 figures not available yet), there were 18.2 MILLION people involved in direct sales in the US. That was a 5.5% increase from 2013. (dsa.org)

Of course all of the sellers have you believe it has changed their life and they can accomplish all their dreams thanks to X opportunity. Is everyone being 100% truthful, probably not, BUT it does happen. There are people who are able to support their family with their Direct Sales business so why not me? What makes them so much better than me that they can be successful and I can’t? I have someone very close to me pretty much telling me this. My business won’t help me reach my dreams and it is just a time and money waste. I disagree!

The truth is I can! I know I can be successful. I just need to be consistent in working my business. Do you think the CEOs at fortune 500 companies work a few days here and there and expect to be successful? No. This is a business. People (including family) might not take you serious and say it’s just a hobby, but don’t let that get you down. Heck, maybe it is just a hobby for you. Not everyone sets out to have their life changed. Some people just want a night out, something fun that they can call their own.

Stay true to your dreams and keep working. It will pay off. Do something every day to further your business whether it be contacting a customer, reaching out to a host or taking time to expand your skill set.

If you need help staying motivated, I started a new Facebook group for people in direct sales. Feel free to join me at https://www.facebook.com/groups/582082948639710/.

Burning the Midnight Oil

These past 2 months have been ridiculous with 2 knee surgeries for me, a daughter who has pneumonia off and on and a little boy who decided he wanted to be sick too. Put a fork in me I’m done!

Needless to say things have fallen waaaaay off track. I was hoping to have such an awesome March in my business, but due to everything going on a lot of stuff fell through the cracks. I tried to do as much as i could remotely, but it’s time to go full throttle again.

In order to have time during the week I’m making a meal plan so we spend less time afterwork. However, with all the foods we need to avoid it’s not easy. Just about every recipe has something that needs to be altered. Paleo recipes have been very helpful. Let’s see how the kids like them.
